what happens if we remove the battery from the motherboard?

  2. The CMOS will probably lose all of the BIOS settings. Before you can boot the PC, you need to reconfigure the BIOS.

  3. I'm fairly certain that after a while or immediately after removal, the CMOS/BIOS will lose settings. However, it won't lose the whole thing, so you won't need to flash the bios after removing the battery. You'll just have to set you clock and preferences again...

  4. In my knowledge the CMOS does not need battery to keep the setting. The only thing you would lose is that the computer clock will not be able to work so everytime you start the computer, the date will be reset to initial default setting. Everything else is going to work just fine. If you never shut down your computer, you don't really need the battery.
