Does your child attend KinderCare Learning Center or Childtime Learning Center? We are in Southern California. I am going to visit both to see what would be best for my 3-year old and a little feedback from parent's whose kids go there or have been there would be great. Thanks in advance for your answers.

  1. Well, I would suggest against it.  I also live in So CA and word is kids that come from those two learning centers from preschool are actually less equipped to handle kinder than if they were in a home care center, or church preschool.   My youngest is currently in kinder and his teacher said this to me from her 14 years teaching experience.  My 1st graders kinder teacher also told me the same things last year.  That kids from KinderCare & Childtime all get grouped together in kindergarden because they are all generally so far behind the others.  All four of my sons attended preschool through a local church, and all four of them were top of their class once they hit kindergarden.

I wish you luck...  IMO, I'd check out the local churches for preschools.  I'd quit working before I would put any of my children in one of those institutions they pass of as preschools.

  2. I am actually an employee of KinderCare Learning Center in Missouri. I have worked for the company for 13 years and I am very happy with them. I have been a teacher, program specialist and director. My own 2 children have been KinderCare kids, they are now 17 and 15 years old and they loved KinderCare. KinderCare is owned by Knowledge Learning Corp. now and it has been a successful transition. With being a corporate company we have our own educational department and they continuously update their programs. We have 1 new preschool program this year for 3/4 year olds and another for 4/5 year olds in prekindergarten. They are wonderful programs. We also have many extra tutorial program you can enroll your child in if you want extra help for your child-phonics, math, Spanish and music. We do teach all this in the regular classroom but some parents want extra activities for their child and we provide this service for them right in our centers. I do not have first hand knowledge of the centers in Southern California but I do know that our company has company wide expectations that we all must meet. Good Luck!!
