  1. F(-8) =8(-8)^2 -sqrt(-3(-8))

    =512 -sqrt 24 =507.10

You probably were multiplying first then squaring (64^2) which is contrary to the order of operations.

    exponents precede multiplication

  2. It is a high value since -8 squared is 64 then that times 8 is 512 minus sqrt 24

    So it's 512 - √24

  3. F(-8) = 8(-8)(-8) - sqrt((-3)(-8))

    F(-8) = 512 - sqrt(24)

    F(-8) = 512 - 4.899

    F(-8) = 507.101

This seems like a perfectly reasonable solution to me, but I don't know what your definition of "a very high value" is.
