  1. i thiiiink gold is more expensive than silver, im not sure, but if it is, i ripped mine, like 1 link, and it cost $20 to fix it, its good as new now =P


  2. It depends on where it broke and what type it is.  If it was close to the clasp it might be cheaper and easier to just have the chain shortened to the break and re-clasped.

    If it's somewhere in the middle, then it may or may not be able to be fixed well.  If it has larger links it's easier than something with tiny ones, and serpentine or omega chains are virtually impossible to repair inexpensively.

    It's best to take your chain to a local jeweler (preferably one locally owned, not a chain - they are more likely to have someone who can do repairs right there, whereas a chain usually has to send repair jobs out) and ask what your options are.

  3. silver is not that expensive..i'd guess that the labour involved in fixing it would be higher than the cost of buying. unless you live in an area where labour is cheap like mexico or china!
