After winning KNVB beker Cup in the 2011/12 season, the Eindhoven giants would be gunning to go one step further by lifting the Eredivisie title this term while advancing to the knock-out stages of the UEFA Europa League
at least.
For the past couple of seasons, PSV Eindhoven have been finishing third on the league table, while missing out UEFA Champions League ticket for the past three seasons.
The Eindhoven giants made impressive starts to each one of the last three seasons, and were always earmarked as the favourites to be crowned champions following their solid showings.
However, the club’s poor showings in the final weeks of the season forced PSV not only to miss out on the title every time, they also had to miss out a chance to play in the Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
With PSV’s failure of earning Champions League ticket, the club management decided to bring hefty reinforcements to their squad before the start of the 2012/13 season.

His arrival has further strengthened the PSV’s front-line that includes the likes of Dries Mertens, Jeremain Lens and Memphis Depay.
Mathias Jorgensen
The Danish central defender had been representing FC Copenhagen since he made his professional football debut at Parken Stadium in the 2007/08 season. His arrival at Philips Stadion has now given more option to the PSV head coach,
d**k Advocaat, at the back-line.
