The Moroccan international played an integral role in his side’s second place finish at the end of the 2011/12 campaign. The 27-year-old’s presence at the centre of the park was extremely influential, netting two goals while setting up plenty more last term.
Aston Villa were keen to add a quality defensive minded player, and successfully managed to lure El Ahmadi to Villa Park earlier this summer. The Rotterdammers will certainly miss his presence in the midfield.
