Slippys Blue won the Greyhound Derby of 1990. He beat the greyhound, Druids Johno, by a huge margin of three and quarter of a length. Slippys Blue crossed the finish line in 28.70 seconds.
The following year Ballinderry Ash won the Greyhound Derby, beating the runner up, Itsallovernow, by one and a quarter of a length. He finished the race in 28.78 seconds.
Farloe Melody emerged victorious in the 1992 Greyhound Derby by completing the race in 28.88 seconds. It was an easy feat for the winner as he defeated the runner up Windsor Abbey by a huge margin of three and a quarter of a length.
Greyhound Ringa Hustle was the first greyhound to cross the finish line in the final of 1993 Greyhound Derby. He beat the runner up Sullane Castle by crossing the finish line in minmal time of 28.62 seconds.
The year 1994 brought victory for greyhound Moral Standards in the final of Greyhound Derby. He finished the race in 28.59 seconds beating the runner up Ayr Flyer by a margin of one and a half lengths.
In 1995, greyhound Moaning Lad won the Greyhound Derby defeating the runner up Summerhill Joy in 28.66 seconds. There was a difference of three quarters of a length between the winner and Summerhill Joy.
Shanless Slippy finished the final race of 1996 Greyhound Derby in 28.66 seconds, winning the Greyhound Derby final. He beat the runner up Night Trooper by a substantial difference of two and a quarter of a length.
Greyhound Some Picture won the 1997 Greyhound Derby by crossing the finish line in minimal time of 28.23 seconds. He defeated runner He Knows by a huge margin of six and a quarter of a length.
Tom The Best emerged victorious in the 1998 Greyhound Derby beating the runner up Tuesday Davy by a margin of four and a half lengths. He finished the race in 28.75 seconds.
The following year Chart King was the first to cross the finish line in the final of Greyhound Derby. He completed the race in 28.67 seconds and beat the runner up Frisby Full by a margin of one and a half lengths.
The start of the new millennium brought victory for a greyhound named Rapid Ranger in the Greyhound Derby. He completed the race in 28.71 seconds.
Rapid Ranger won the Greyhound Derby for the second time in a row in 2001. He completed the race in the same time as the previous year, that is, 28.71 seconds.
Greyhound Allen Gift emerged victorious in the 2002 Greyhound Derby. He finished the race in 29.04 seconds and defeated the runner up Call Me Baby.
Droopys Hewitt won the 2003 Greyhound Derby, defeating the runner up Farloe Verdict by a margin of two and three quarters of a length. He finished the race in 29.13 seconds.
In 2004, Droopys Scholes was the first to cross the wire in the final of Greyhound Derby in 28.62 seconds. He beat the runner up Big Freeze by margin of three quarters of a length.
Westmead Hawk emerged victorious in the 2005 Greyhound Derby. He finished the race in 28.56 seconds and beat the runner up Blonde Mac by a margin of 12 twelve points.
The following year, Westmead Hawk won the Greyhound Derby for the second year in a row. He finished the race in 28.44 seconds defeating the runner up by a small difference of six points.
The year 2007 brought victory for greyhound Westmead Lord in the Greyhound Derby final followed by greyhound Loyal Honcho at the second position.
The previous year’s runner up Loyal Honcho won the Greyhound Derby in 2008. He finished the race in 28.6 seconds defeating the runner up by a difference of 28 points.
In 2009, greyhound Kinda Ready won the final of the Greyhound Derby. He finished the race in 28.65 seconds. Fear Zafonic qualified for the second position in the final. He was three and a half lengths short of the winner we he cross the finish line.
The last Greyhound Derby of the previous decade was won by bandicoot Tipoki. He finished the race in 28.57 seconds defeating the runner up Lyreen Mover by a mere difference of half a length.
There has been heavy investment in this sport in the previous two decades. Standards have been raise higher. Infrastructure of the stadiums, training methodologies and welfare of greyhounds has been improved. Greyhound Derby is truly at its peak in this
era.
