A look at the Tournament Player Club Sawgrass – Part 3
Hole #7
This hole stretches on 442 yards, and it is the dogleg left on the fairway which makes it a challenge. There are two huge bunkers on both the sides of the fairway that are ready to catch any lose shot. The ideal approach to reach the strategically located
left green is by hitting a mid-iron in a fade style and target the backside of the green.
Hole #8
This 237-yard par-3 is the longest par-3 on the course. Distance is the greatest challenge here and it can be countered with the help of 3-wood or mid iron, but make sure that the ball lands in the centre and not on the sides, as the slope would easily roll
it into the bunkers.
Hole #9
This is the finest of the par-5s on the course for its curves and the hazards that come in the way. There is water in the backdrop, which makes it an ideal location for picnics, if it were not a golf course. The same creek intrudes the fairway and separates
it from the path of land, which turns dogleg left.
The left side of the fairway is conquered by a massive bunker and if one relishes success in saving the ball, a birdie is guaranteed on a green, which hides behind the trees and the bunkers. The ideal approach to target the green is from the right side,
as the area is flat and the bunkers situated there are not deep.
Hole #10
This is the opening hole on the back and is a par-4. The 10th hole is another picturesque beauty, with water and trees in the view. The fairway is an up-hill drive with water on the left, but do not worry, as the water will not catch the shot,
as it is there for the sake of a view.
The fairway is two-tiered with a sand bunker in between the two. Fade the second shot to plunge the second fairway and target the centre of the green, as it is the only area suitable for putting.
Hole #11
With water on the left side of the tee, this par-5 lays on 558 yards. The fairway and the tee are separated by water, while a huge creek comes in the picture near the green. The ideal approach to reach the green in two shots is by adopting a risky strategy.
Target a small island in the sand bunker, which is located at the left side of the fairway. Take the aim for the pin, whether it is in the front or the back, and you will be rewarded.
