There have been a number of legends in World Boxing history. One of most legendary boxing players is Manny Pacquiao known as “The Pac-Man.” He is an owner of many momentous titles. Many supporters of boxing look up to him as an idol of boxing. The most interesting
aspect of his life is his multidimensional life, full of colours of life.
Manny Pacquiao (short for Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao), is a professional boxer and a politician. He is a seven-division world champion. Pacquiao is the first boxer in history to win nine world titles in seven different weight divisions. Presently, Pacquiao
is the World Boxing Organization’s (WBO), Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion).
Number of nicknames knows Pacquiao, most of which were given due to his eye catching performances. Other than Manny Pacquiao, he is known to the world as “The Pac-Man,” “The Fighting Pride of the Philippines”, “The Destroyer”, “The Mexicutioner”, “The Pambansang
Kamao,” and “The Fighting Congressman.”
Besides boxing, Pacquiao has been a part of Congress of the Philippines, representing the province of Sarangani. He established the record of being the first active boxer to become a congressional representative in the Philippines. He also tried his hands
in acting and music recording. Pacquiao is a devout Roman Catholic. Pacquiao is also a military man with the rank of Sergeant Major for the 15th Ready Reserve Division of the Philippine Army.
Manny Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978 to a very poor family, in Kibawe, Bukidnon. At the very early stage of his life when he was a student of sixth grade, his parents separated. This was another unbearable situation for him. He was at number six
among six siblings.
According to his biographer, the conditions of his family were very poor, due to which he forced himself to work when he was still a student of grade school. He started with selling bread in his neighbourhood. Manny then came to know about his hidden ability
of fighting at a very young age. Aside from selling bread, he fought people around the neighbourhood for small amounts of money. By the time he was 15, Manny started training with full concentration and determination. The training, plus working condition put
him into a shape of a strong fighter.
Pacquiao is married to a very attractive and gorgeous model, Geraldine "Jinkee" Jamoraas. He is a father to two sons and two daughters and has proved himself a very caring parent. He resides in his hometown and as he is a congressional representative of
district of Sarangani, he is officially residing in the same district. Sarangani is also the hometown of his wife.
With a hunger to acquire education, he entered into Saavedra Saway Elementary School. After some time he dropped out of high school due to fervent poverty. He left his home at age 14 because of his poor family and his mother was not making enough money to
support her family. These were the reasons due to which he left his family rather than comforting in the arms of his mother like other children of his age group.
He appeared in a High School Equivalency exam; afterwards he was provided with an opportunity to educate himself by getting into college. He enrolled himself for a college degree in business management at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU).
