POV: Lord of the flies is written from the point of view of the protagonist Ralph. the reader always knows what he is thinking and what conflicts are going through his head.

advantages ONE:

-ralph is the leader of the boys, so his view covers everything that goes on in the island. since he has to listen to everyone's views, the reader gets the best possible unbiased reasoning of everyone's opinions.

advantage TWO:

- (background) William Golding uses Freud's consciousness model to develop the book's characters.

Piggy is the superego, one who acts as a conscious in terms of determining right from wrong.

Jack is the id, the impulsive unconscious that acts on his own desires.

Ralph is the ego, which is the conscious person, meaning he balances the id and superego and makes decisions between the two.

(my fav) It makes sense to see things from Ralph's point of view because it would emphasize the Freudian model by emphasizing the decision-making process of the ego/Ralph and the conflict between choosing superego or id.

advantage THREE:

-Ralph is the only one that comes into specific contact with the pig head (lord of the flies); another point of view wouldn't cover this main point
