A lot of my Lucid Dreams Take on a Sexual Theme?

Too bad Freud's not alive to analyze this one.

What do you think it means? Are we REALLY in control even as lucid dreamers?

  1. Lucid implies some state of control at work - an at least semi-conscious manipulation of the dreaming process.

Sexual themes are not the least unusual in normal human beings.  We are sexual creatures among many other things that make us up and there's always a curiosity to be studied or desire to find a response for.  It is not a sign of being overly fixated - these things come and go over time, are usually more frequent among younger people who are on a path of maturing and seeking answers or experience.  They may emerge - or continue - in older people as well as new curiosities or attractions develop.

The lucid nature of it?  Lucid dreaming is not terribly uncommon and some even hold that the process can be groomed so that one nearly dreams what one wishes at will.  That level of control very much approaches conscious thought and control with the illusion of dreaming.  More commonly we may experience a semi-waking sensation whereby we do 'participate' to guide the dream in a desirable way.  Where a sexual theme is concerned this might be an especially attractive 'option'.  The human urge within is strong - the mind's own imagination provides the rest and takes the whole being to that place we wish to be.  To some degree then, one would be 'in control' where such urges and desires drive the dreaming process so near the surface of consciousness.

So, yes - one can REALLY be at least somewhat 'in control' when this happens.  It is perfectly human and natural - and far safer than experimenting physically with others at too young an age or with carelessness of heart and body at any age.

    All the best to you.

  2. You're a normal human being.  There - you didn't need Freud and I won't charge you my usual fee.
