Question:

A lot of people hated Breaking Dawn, but I loved it. Your opinion?

Breaking Dawn, I agree, was a little off from the other books in the Twilight series, but it was just because there was more plot to talk about than the feelings of characters. I saw a petition online about how people saw Breaking Dawn as a failure. I disagree. I loved it wholeheartedly. Stephenie Meyer hasn't even put on an FAQ about the book on her website yet, so I'm sure some of the loose ends that everyone thinks ruined the book will be answered. The fact that Bella got the only thing she wouldn't be able to have in her vampire life--a baby--was given to her was amazing. And Jacob got his happy ending as well, with Renesme. I loved the last installment, and I can't wait for Midnight Sun.

  1. I liked it, admittedly not as much as i liked the others. I think one of the reasons people didn't like it was because it was so different then the others, also bella got everything she wanted no compromises, no one important died she got a baby, edward, jacob as a friend. i could go on, the ending was too perfect to much of a happy ending. Other then that the only thing that bugged me was renesmee it was a nice idea but a rly weird name. i mean how could anyone call a VAMPIRE Nessie?! it sounds like a dogs name. But no i don't think it was as bad as people are making it out to be.

  2. I loved it as well.  I couldn't agree with you more.

  3. Even though I thought Twilight was definitely the best one I still liked Breaking Dawn a lot. I thought it had a lot of twists and turns, but I also think the story was rushed and there were a lot of questions that were not answered form that book and the previous ones. I think she could have even made Breaking Dawn into two books. Hopefully she will rewrite the whole series in Edward's POV. I think that is why she made it in Jacob's POV part of the book because I thought it was a little bizarre, but also good because you got to see how Jacob saw things. I think she needed to talk more about the pregnancy in Bella's POV. It was sort of funny because I predicted that Bella was going to get pregnant and so did my friend. I did NOT see the whole imprinting thing coming though. I thought it was hilarious. Overall I thought it was really good!!! I'm sad it's over... :-(

  4. OMJ! I absolutely loved it.

I thought the whole preganancy thing was crazy. I never even dreamed of that happening. And when it did. My mouth just fell open and I couldn't think for like a minute.

Then when it went to Jacob's point of view I was upset. I mean come on! But when I started reading it I thought that was a good idea.

I can't believe he imprinted on Renesmee. That was just amazing. I'm happy that he found someone he's in love with and the person is in love with him. And now he and Bella can be Besties. lol.

I actually thought Bella was going to die during her pregnancy. Even though I knew she was gonna tell the rest of the story after Jacob. At first, I wanted her to get rid of the baby. I mean, it was killing her! But when she became mores stronger after drinking the blood, it was all good. And when she drank the blood. I started gagging. That was so gross. But funny.

Then when Bella finally gave birth I was excited. I thought she was gonna die though. Which made me sad. But then Edward turned her into a vampire! I was waiting for that. If she never became a vampire I would of cried.

I thought she had really cool powers. Like immune to mental powers. And Super self-control. I'm glad that happened.

When they were about to fight the Volturi and were saying their good-byes to everyone I almost cried. Seriously! I didn't want anyone to die!

And when Alice left! Ugh. I was upset But she needed to do it. But she should of told Bella.

I love the name Renesmee Carlie. It's really pretty.

All in all, I loved the book. I just wish there was MORE romance between Bella and Edward.

I can't wait for Midnight Sun. It's gonna be amazing. And the movie.

  5. it was decent.

more like a fanfiction than any of meyer's earlier books, though.

i couldn't stand the beginning, but it got better.

  6. I loved Breaking Dawn as well, but it is not my favorite;

Some of my favorite scenes included her first hunt/her first night as a vampire, Bella beating Emmett (finally a taste of his own medicine), and how kick-butt-awesome Bella was during the battle.

I was very happy for all the characters in the end and everything that happened in between.  From the wedding, to the pack seperation, to the baby and Jacob imprinting, to Bella's new life forever with Edward and just all of it.  It's sad though that not everyone can have a happily ever after like Bella's family did.  I can't wait for the Midnight Sun; I wonder if she will do other perspectives of the characters on Twilight or if she will do the rest of the series from Edward's point of view instead?

  9. *SPOILERS*

I have always been a huge Twilight fan, and still am. However Breaking Dawn was for me one of the biggest let downs. I've never been a fan of New Moon, but the story there was, at least, realistic. This one was not! After the initial 'high' of finally getting my hands on the book, seeing there were three books in one, and staying up all night to read, wore off, I started really analyzing how the plot was laid out. I came to the conclusion that the book reads like a fanfic, NOT something that came from the same author of Eclipse. The characters where flat and empty with no real emotion. They didn't even seem like themselves. Bella was Bella until after the wedding. Then her personality was gone, as were everyone else's. I couldn't understand all the changes in her writing. To be perfectly honest, I've never considered Stephenie Meyer, and amazing author with an exceptional plot. She just creates fun, relatable characters that are fun to read about. I, as much as anyone, love sitting down with one of the books and getting lost in the world that she's created. I couldn't do that with this book. I couldn't see myself at the wedding, or on the island, or with Bella and her baby. Stephenie Meyer has in my opinion always relied on descriptive details to help her books along. Once Bella was pregnant there were no details, and that made it hard to read. Of course I loved reading about Bella and Edward on the island, I screamed when I found out she was pregnant, and I loved reading about cute Renesmee, but I couldn't relate to any of it. Especially her daughter. Why should Renesmee grow unnaturally fast? I suppose that Bella drank the blood willingly because her fetus was half vampire, but why was there not explation for that? I understand more or less how she got pregnant, but it wasn't explained very well like so many other things. Stephenie Meyer made a lot of assumptions that we could figure out strange, unheard of, things, with no help or clues. Another problem with the writing: The first-middle part of the book dragged on, while the middle-end, went on at the speed of light. I got so bored reading Jacob's book. NO emotion! I think it would have been better written from Edward's point of view. Then when it was back to Bella, everything started happening at once! She had the baby and two seconds later, Edward jabs her with a needle of venom. Very unromantic. I understand the necessity of the timing, but it was (like so many other things), not well explained at all. We just see him bite her - not pain on his face, no thirst, no wondering if she's alive, just bite, bite, bite. Again, Stephenie Meyer would have put emotion with him. And Renesmee... I loved reading about Bella's adorable half human, half vampire daughter, but again it was un-relatable. Who has a perfect child who can show you perfectly what she wants, all the time, no crying, sleeping when you need her too, and you never get tired?! Honestly!! I will read it again, but I can't have an open mind again. I will always wish it had been different - maybe that Bella stays human until the last page, and the Volturi fight because she's still human and they actually fight!! She changes at the end, and we get to see Edward restrain her as a newborn. What - we're supposed to believe she never drinks human blood as a newborn, has the perfect child and husband, and gets to see her human family immediately? And what's with the rest of the Cullens? We never see Esme; and Alice - Bella's best friend - is gone throughout the whole book sulking about being 'blind'. 'Em' and 'Jazz'? What's up with that? And Carlisle didn't seem himself either. Rosalie was the one with the most personality and importance - that's just sad. Also, it was a little too convieniant, that her love problems with Jacob could be fixed by her half vampire daughter. And of course, there's the whole faux-fight scene. It's just too happily ever after. We're all geared up for some huge battle and then Bella and Renesmee save the day before it starts. All in all, it seems Stephenie Meyer was writing to please the public. Ironic, when the public seems to like it when she's writing for herself.

  10. It was not the best book. like her getting pregnant was kind of strange and there was no final fight in the end. also the part about when she was giving birth was kind of graphic and disturbing. i think it was really different and it was ok. i liked how she became a vampire just having a kid was kind of out of character for Bella. here is my list from favorite book to lease favorite.

    1. Twilight

    2. Eclipse

    3. New Moon

    4. Breaking Dawn

I just finished it about 5 hours ago. I got it yesterday evening and stayed up pretty much all night!

  11. i luved it 2. idk y jake fans h8............. it every1 got there happy ending

  12. Loved it, end of story.

--->You know you just wasted five points asking this question right? Just look at all the other ones that have been asked ;)

Good luck waiting for midnight sun, i was waiting for Breaking Dawn the day i finished Eclipse (the same day it came out :D, and the same for New Moon...) It's not coming out for at LEAST a year. The movie is gonna SUCK but they should SOOO make BD into a musical!!!! Now THAT i would watch!

  13. I thought it was pretty good and liked how Bella got her happy ending.

  14. I liked this book too, it was amazingly good, not my fave, but good.  Personally, out of 5 stars, I'd give it a four.

  15. I've never heard anyone say they didn't like it. That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Good Lord that was the best series I've ever read and Breaking Dawn was the perfect way to finish it. There is nothing that she could of done differently. Absolute brilliance, and to think, the whole idea came to her in a dream. That's nuts.

  16. If it was up to me, Renesmee would have been aborted.

    It was a'ight and omg,

There was a bit ch slap in there.

Caius ***** slapped Irina and I laughed,

as I laughed when Jacob threw his dog bowl at Rosalie's head.

Coz I have always hated Rosalie.

  18. I loved it, too! At first, I was appalled that other people didn't like it, and then I read their reasons. I understand, now, why they didn't like and can see what they mean. Bella did get everything she wanted. I am re-reading the whole series which I do with just about all books.

Anyway, other people may not have liked it, but that doesn't change how I thought about it. Breaking Dawn is my favorite in the series, Twilight next.

Sometimes, we all deserve a happy ending, Bella especially after everything she's gone through.

Also, the title is so intense. I love it!

    Good luck!

  19. I didn't like the happy ending.  It seemed forced.  I felt like the whole book drifted from the "natural" order of the way things were supposed to go.  I didn't like that Bella wound up getting everything she ever wanted.

I ended up writing my own version of what I think would have happened after Eclipse.
