A love story that was in Paris?

While I was in Paris I got a tour guide on a bus and he was telling us about a love story that took place there between a sad women and a famous artist like van gogh or da vinici or another famous artist and he was telling us that this girl would sit at this cafe where this artist would go and paint and she would always try to get his attention and one day she was wearing white gloves and pricked her finger just so he would notice and he did and she kept that glove ever since and she was found dead in her apartment about 1 a year ago now she was found as an old women and she still had the glove, how romantic.

has anyone ever heard about this?

No, but the only painting this makes me think of is "La femme aux gants" by Toulouse Lautrec, at the Musée d'Orsay.
