His head kept going under water and he finally drowned. So sad --how can be avoided?

  1. Parts of nature can be bitterly cruel.  There's nothing you can really do about it.

Consider the "Cain and Abel" syndrome.  When some species of birds hatch, the larger will push the smaller one out of the nest.

Pelicans will lay as many as three eggs, when they all hatch the two larger hatchlings will torment and eventually force the smaller from the nest.  Then the larger of the two that are left will torment and force the smaller one from the nest.

Certain species of Cuckoos will lay an egg in another species nest where the incubation period is longer for those eggs.  When the Cuckoo hatches (even though blind and featherless) it will push all other eggs out of the nest.

Mother nature has her own set of rules and some are horribly cruel.  Intervention will not help and would be nothing more than a study in futility.

  2. the other one is talking about baby ones. i have seen one of those fights to but the duck lived. i was so happy because that duck loved me it came up to me and it came so close to me. thats cool.so sorry you had to see that. if it happens again throw a rock at the one that is attacking  the duck.

you can make little wallss  the ducks  arent to close.but you should ask somebody that owns the place first or throw the rock like i said. i bet it is normal because i saw it happen to and it was a mallard too. also if you have a pet rock use it to throw at the attacking duck. pets rocks love it.lol. im so sorry about that so lets use are rocks mahahahahahahha

    lolololololo
