  1. No can do. The most, the maximum you can have of anything is 100% and the total you have is 115%. Did you copy the problem correctly?

Let's try something so I can show you how to solve this type of problem. Instead of 60% for misc, let's make it smaller, say 35%. In this case, 30%+25%+35%=90%, which means the savings represents only 10%. Then, if 540=10%, how much is the total salary? 10% is 1/10th of the total, so a simple multiplication by 10 gives us 5400$, Or you can use a simple proportion, 10%/100%=540/X, solve for X. The same applies to 30% for rent, 30%/100%=X/5400, solve for X, 25%/100%=X/5400, and finally 35%/100%=X/5400. Which solves to 30%=1620, 25%=1350 and 35%=1890.

  2. is this a riddle, or does he make 115% salary?

  3. 30% (income) +

    25% (education) +

    60% (misc) =

    115%  ???

So the man would technically be ''in the hole'' every month AND NOT saving $540.

  4. $714.15.

  5. A bloody miracle 60+30+25. When i went to school this added up to 115. This guy is out spending his budget.
