  1. wt.ofbody <--- what is this?

  2. confusing question??

    It seems the author of this question thought that on a particular planet, its acceleration due to gravity will make the body to move up and down in different timings. Yes it is true. But the question should be framed in a different way

    This question can be solved this way

    Let us consider total time taken is T, initial velocity ‘u’ and acceleration due to gravity is ‘g’

    By definition T = 2u/g  or 8= (2*10/g) or g = 20/8 = 2.5 m/s^2

    Therefore weight of the body = mass x acceleration due to gravity = 0.5 x 2.5 = 1.25 N

  3. The value of 'g' here should not be taken conventionally as 9.8 or 10.Instead it should be calculated.

             Time of flight=2(initial velocity)/g

                     8=2(10)/g

               So  g=2.5

    Now weight=(mass)g

                    =(0.5)(2.5)

                    =1.25N

  4. The answer is 1.25 N.

    The body reaches the max. height in 4s.Therefore acceleration due to gravity is 10/4 = 2.5m/s^2. Thus the weight of the body is 2.5 * 0.5 = 1.25N.

  5. Is'nt wt of body remains the same as 0.5 kg?
