Microwave Chocolate Cake for One

You can use any microwave safe mug for this. I prefer a larger mug (coffee-house style) because it is easier to mix the ingredients.

4 tbsp cake flour

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

pinch salt

1 large egg

3 tbsp strong coffee

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Sift together flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder and salt into a large coffee mug (or small bowl). Stir in egg, coffee, vegetable oil and vanilla, mixing until smooth. If you are mixing inside a coffee mug, be sure to scrape the corners well.

Microwave on high for about 3 minutes. Cake will puff up like a souffle and should appear to be “set” after 3 minutes. Cake will fall once removed from the microwave.

Serve in the mug, or turned out into a bowl, with a bit of ice cream or whipped cream.

i have done this before!!! its hard to explain but u dont make the whole thing its like a minny cake u take a little bit of the batter and put it into a small bowl and cook it in the microwave when its cooked all the way through u flip the bowl upside down and then frost it but wate a little for it to cool off so the frosting doesnt melt off they are really good u need to try one

Well, I bake a lot, and I don't know what sort of cake you could bake in 3 minutes except one of those Betty Crocker Singles chocolate cakes you put in the microwave. They come in mini and regular and serve one person. I use those when I want some cake but I'm too lazy to get all the ingredients together. I make all my sweets from scratch and this is the only thing store bought that actually tastes good to me.

In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add oil, remaining 1/3 cup hot water, egg, vanilla and chocolate mixture; beat until batter is smooth and well blended.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Microwave on high 5 to 6 minutes without turning until cake begins to pull away from sides (some moist spots may remain but will disappear on standing). Let stand 5 minutes; invert onto serving plate. Peel off plastic wrap; cool. Frost. About 8 servings.

I don't know about baking a cake in three minutes, but there's a recipe where MIXING the cake takes about three minutes. All you have to do is use a box of store-bought cake mix and mix it together with a can of soda. Something like sprite works for white cake, while cola would be good for chocolate cake. It's really tasty, especially when you spread cool whip on top.
