A man walks into a bar

he asks the bartender for a glass of water

The bartender then pulls out a gun and points it at the man

the man says thank you to the bartender and walks out of the bar

What was going on here?

The man was having a hiccup and wanted a glass of water to cure his hiccup. The bartendar, being helpful, took a gun out to scare the man of his hiccup. It succeeded and the man thank the bartendar and left the bar.
