A map to track places I want to visit?

I im looking to travel alot in the next few yrs. where can i find a cool interactive map to track the places I have been to and places I would like to visit. Also, I would like the ability to add pic to places I have visited.

how about google earth.  you can add virtual tacks to the places you have been and have different color tacks for the places you wanna go.  they have all the info you could want on that sight and it co operates with wikipedia so you can learn even more.  you can add pics iff you want, but they would be available for everyone to see, and you can see their pictures.  its what i use for the same reasons you gave, so yeah its cool
