A medium sized city with a strong maritime environment? Ships, boats, and boardwalk?

A place like Boston would be too big. I am looking for a smaller city on either coast where shipping and boating

are big, and the public has easy access to the environment.

I am looking at Portland, Maine right now. Please give me other ideas. Thanks.

  1. Annapolis, MD, Tampa, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Galveston, TX, Gulfport, MS, Pascagoula, MS, Mobile, AL, Wilmington, NC, Charleston, SC, Cleveland, OH, Seattle, WA, the whole Puget Sound area in fact, and lots of towns in California.

Portland, ME is a small city (population 63K). There are lots of cities this size that I have not named.

    Do you have an atlas?

    Regards,

    Dan

  2. I'd go with Baltimore, city population of 725,000.  Has world famous Inter Harbor, commercial shipping, and Chesapeake Bay boating.  Close to DC.  The "Promenade" circles the inter harbor.

  3. Seattle? Victoria BC maybe?

  4. Virginia Beach/Norfolk

  5. Key West

    Galveston

    Tampico

    San Juan

    Monterey

    Fort Lauderdale
