A member of my group wants to post a message. How can we do that?

I found an email address at the bottom of a posted message that we thought the member should use to post a message. I had assumed the message would come through under "pending" for me to approve, but nothing ever showed up.

  1. One good way would be to have the member post at the site.

    Also, if the member has many different email addresses and is using Outlook to send and recieve emails, or even using Incredimail... it they have more than one email address and the default for sending out emails is NOT linked with the Yahoo group, it will not get sent to the group.  I have had that happen before, I sent an email and it never went through because it was defaulted to use an email address not associated with the yahoo group.  One way to change this is to have them add that one as the default email address in Yahoo, or the email address for Yahoo groups set to be defaulted in the email program they are using.  Hope this helps.

  2. To make sure you gave your member the correct group email address to send posts, go to your group's home page.  Scroll down to the bottom and you will see your group's addresses for different  functions. Look for the one that says "Post Message".

    If that's not the problem, what Debra C. said about using the correct email address to send posts to group certainly is a good suggestion.

  3. Everyone that is in your group should be able to post a message in it. You may be the owner and also moderator but that doesn't mean that you get to edit their comments. I had a group that I have since dissolved but the address for it was;

    minivespa400@yahoogroups.com yours would be what ever  the name of the group is @yahoogroups.com If you have more of a question e-mail me I still have a group and have had a group for 5 going on 6 years.

    Note;  I should have added that if a person is replying to a message all they have to do is just that click reply and type in their response.

              I had assumed that people knew whether they belonged to a group or not and just because you have an address doesn't automatically mean that your other address is in the group, All three of my addresses are in the group.

             I will add something that you didn't ask about but you will find in the long run that it is really a neat thing. Most of us have a yahoo email address but when you write a comment for your group, if you have Outlook or Outlook Express. Write your comments in there and then if you want to add a photo you can, but with Yahoo all that you can add is an attachment and your readers will need to open it to see what you have sent to them.

  4. Here's how you can post a message to your group:

  5. to be sure of the correct addy, it's at the bottom of your group-

    Post message: addy.  maybe the member didn't copy it correctly or send anything yet- double check the addy you gave with whats at the bottom of your group-
