A million years from now????

Question

what do you think will happen in a million years?

will there be a new dominant species, and us being considered as "dinosaurs"? what do you think

If the human race doesn't become extinct before then, it will have evolved beyond recognition. In fact, this evolution might very well take place over multiple leaps, with many species of inferior human beings lying on the evolution scale between us and the humans of one million years later. We will be the cavemen of that era.

From an optimistic point of view, the dominant species will most likely be distant relatives of human beings. Considering how much our morphology has changed from the past million years until now, you could probably expect the same amount of change in our species appearance. Maybe less, since there is less pressure from our environment to change.

From a pessimistic point of view, humans would all be dead, and there would probably be far less technologically advanced species.

A million years from now all ethnicities will be so inbreeded that we'll become one mega-race!

A million years from now robots will rule the world!

One million years from now, human race will be extinct, and hope fully we have all evolved into Buddhas. Why not heavenly beings? Because heavenly beings is a path of Samsara, and they are born into heaven, whereas Buddha is the next evolution of human beings.

The earth is slowing down approximately one second per year. This year is one second longer than last year. Next year will be one second longer than this year.

In a million years, the earth would be spinning a million seconds slower per year. This would mean that each day would be about 24 hours and 45 minutes. This would give us an extra 45 minutes per day. Because of the earth slowing down, the winds would blow slightly slower as well, although it probably would not be too noticable. The moon would be slightly smaller because the moon is slowly moving away from the earth. If the moon was further away, then the tides would not come in quite as dramatically as they do today. But it wouldn''t be too dramatic to cause a problem.

Here's the problem:

Because of the exponential growth of the human population, the amount of people on earth would be staggering. There would be trillions x trillions x trillions x trillions of people on earth. To put this in perspective, this number is vastly greater than the total number of atoms in our vast universe.

Scientifically speaking, the earth, and this universe could not last a million years from now, even if we did colonize other planets.

Jesus is coming back before then.

But if it didnt i do think it would be a new species.

There would be some new species digging up in bones and putting us in museums and making models of us.. And there little species will be on field trips and the guides will say "...and they used forks to eat" and all the kids will be like "ooooh..." Except, i dont think that they talk in English but whatever the equivalent in there language is :) I also think they will think we are stupid. They will be like "and they made AIRPLANES!!!" ahahah :) I think they will look different than us too. And i think they will be able to live underwater, they will be smart enough to not destory the planet, conserve energy and water and all that jazz, and also have more technology than we ever imagined. I don't think they will have computers. They will have things like computers but much more portable. Same with cell phones and ipods, it will all be combined into one but way more combined than anything we have. I also don't think they will use cars, and they will manage to find a way into outer space much deeper than we have and will find a way to live peacefully with everything else :)
