there is a lady in my apartment who does not watch her child. you are asking how she is not watching her kid. let me tell you.the mother and child live on the 1st floor, (We live in a open complex, when you open your door you can see the outside.) one day she was going to do her launder the son walk up the stairs (up 1 Floor) and started to play. i let her know that it is not safe for the child to be up stair without her. she got him with in 30 seconds. today i saw the child on the 2nd floor again with out the mother. this time the child was alone for 1 and a half. shold i let the landlord know what is going on with the child or cps?

  1. If it were me. i would let the management of the complex know about this. and let them take it from there. or if they dont do anything and it continues then call cps.

if the child falls down the stairs and hurts himself then the mother could sue the owner of the complex. so im sure they would love to hear about a mother that allows her child to roam the hall ways and stairs unattended

  2. I would certainly let the manager know or call the local authorities the next time you see him alone.  I had the same problem with a neighbor of ours about two years ago and I had to call the military police who contacted CPS when his mother took sleeping pills, passed out on the couch and her three year old was hanging off the second story balcony with a four inch paring knife in his hand.  I thought that was good reason to let CPS know what was going on.  I would let someone know before it gets that far.

TWO years old?  Most certainly let someone know!  The Military Police told me when I called them about that three year old that a child left alone for more than 20 minutes should be reported.

  3. Yes let someone know.Something could happen to that child or he could be taken. How would you feel if you knew you could've prevented that?

  4. How old is the child?? No it is not safe but keep an eye on it, you can always call your local social worker for all the laws about this and then they can check it out if the child seems to be in danger.
