What are good type of motorcycles that you would say are alright for a women who is 5'1" and just 103lbs.

Yes, I'm pretty serious... lol I'd want something at max 500cc's... otherwise.. Hoping 300-400. Are Kawasaki Ninjas a good idea? I don't want something monstrous.

Please and thanks for the input. ^_-

  1. um there are some dealers that will custom make them for you but it costs alot

  2. Hi Ganii, What ever you decide you have to fit. Both feet should be flat on the ground, esp in the learning curve. Most crotch rockets are have high seat height. At 5 '1" you be stopped with one foot on a peg and one tip toe on the ground, not a good idea except on a pure dirt bike. I recommend a smaller bike to start, a Honda Rebel 250 or a Yamaha V star ( Virago) 250. Later you can move up. Either of these bikes are commonly avaiable and should be found clean and used. Save a few bucks w used and not get kicked so bad when you trade up in 4 - 6 months. Enjoy.

  3. Depends on what kind of bike you want to ride and where.  Do you want a sport bike?  A Ninja 500 or even a Ninja 250 might be the answer.

A Cruiser?  the Vulcan 500 is one of the only new cruisers between 250 and 700cc.

Make sure whatever bike you think you want is comfortable when sitting in riding position... Have the salesman or a friend hold the bike upright while you try the riding position.  Also make sure the seat height is low enough that you can balance the bike without much effort, because if you get tired the bike will feel like it weighs much more than it did when you started out.

  4. My wife rides a Katana 600, similar to the Ninja.  She's 5'7" make sure both feet touch the ground.  You may wont to look at the Yamaha V Star 650, great little cruiser.  Best bang for the buck is the Rebel 250, I had a friend years ago that put 75k on it, he couldn't kill the thing.  If you are a new rider take a riding course which ever bike you get...Safe riding and good luck

  5. since you mentioned a ninja, i'm assuming you like the look of a sports bike?

the 2008 kawasaki ninja 250 is a really nice bike. it looks like the 600 supersports but in a smaller package.
