  1. I  park my bike outside. I have my own assigned space and alos there is extra "visitor" parking spaces

There are many factors which you did not mention.

Do you have an assigned parking place in your apartment complex? How many spaces?

Do you have a car?  Can you fit both you car and a motorcycle in one parking space?

Is there sidewalk space or an area not in anyones way where you think you could park your bike and perhaps ask the landlord of the apartmemt complex if you could park your bike on the sidewalk?

  2. I was going to say I have had to do that and used a cover and good lock. And in a lighted area but after I saw the snow job about a Honda Rebel . Any other motorcycle would be a wise  investment only when you go to extremes does the economy affect sales of motorcycles and that is the big j*p cruisers and play racer bikes. If you go for something in 250 cc range you will be alright. I would look at the Kymco Venox or Hyosung GV250 both are well made machines, reliable fun priced right and twice the bike a rebel will ever be.

  3. Great investment.   Buy a bike few want to steal.  Also one that is good on gas, maybe a Honda Rebel  or 400-500 CC.  Lock it.  Cover it.  Ride it.  As per investment, have you seen how small bike prices have skyrocketed.  My girlfriend is buying an '85 Rebel, with 10k miles.  Got it, well dressed for $1750.  The owner was offered $2,000 without even riding it a few days later.  Ebay is selling them for more than that if clean.  I don't see how you can lose unless you wreck it, or have to pay to park it for the winter months...but hey, lots of folks ride year round.

  4. yes,it also saves money.just buy a lock and cover for your bike.

  5. harleys do not lose much value.... get an 2003 one

    something like a sportster

it would be a wise investment because you can park her pretty much anywhere

just get a cover for her

  6. bottom floor with a door?

  7. A motorcycle is not a wise investment because like any other automobile, it loses value the second you buy it.  Motorcycles especially are a poor financial investment becaust their value depends on how the economy as a whole is doing.  Motorcycles are "luxury" items.  If the economy is doing well then their value does well because a lot of people are buying them.  If it is doing poorly, then their value goes down.

On a different note, I too live in an apartment and their are no issues in having a motorcycle without a garage.  Just get a cover for it to protect it against the elements and you will be fine.
