  1. What you want to do heare is draw a picture

    ........M  1000ft

    ......./;;;\__

    ...../...........\  . /~\

    .../;;;;;;;;;;;;;;\v/''''''\        200ft

    ../..........................\

Here we have a mountain, and a valley, O.k. use your imagination!

how many feet (the end amount) Higher (more than) is the Mountain than the valley.

How many feet = mountain > Valley?

    How many feet = 1000 - 200

    800 feet = mountain > Valley!

now the v in the valley is 200 feet up so if you imagine that a line from the top of the mountain to the valley is drawn, and you measure that line, how long would it be?  why?

    good luck!

  2. 800 feet
