Erm I dunno but these films might be what your looking for...I have seen them but cant remember any football scenes, but just incase I missed something!

Sounds like encino man. With Brendan Fraser and Pauly Shaw. its on the Internet Movie Database (www.IMDB.com). Just search it there and you'll now if its the right one or not.

The movie your describing is "The Worlds Greatest Athlete". It's a comedy about a University coach who discovers a young, blond Tarzan type while touring an African jungle. (The movie was actually made in the 70's and the school is a college.) The coach is amazed at how strong, fast and athletic the guy is. Since the coach's teams are not doing well he takes the guy back to the U.S. and enrolls him in all the sporting events at the school including Football where the Tarzan-guy blows everyone away and wins all the competitions.

FYI: In the movie "Encino Man" the guy was a cave-man frozen underground and uncovered in a family's backyard in Encino, California. This film had nothing to do with a jungle or school football team.

It's Encino Man....old movie, but funny! Even if you can't stand Pauly shore, which I can't...it's redeemed by Brendan Fraser
