I was just thinking, there's a documentary on Mike Tyson thats coming out soon, and I was wondering if they would ever make a movie based on Mike's life. I bet it would go good at the box office! What do yall think?

And what actor would be fit to play him on the big screen?

I think Jamie Foxx is a good option.

  1. There was a movie already made about Mike Tyson. I forgot the name of it, but I don't think it made box office, either. The movie featured Michael Jai White (as Tyson), who also played in the movie Spawn.

Thanks, Ruddiger! I couldn't think of the name of the movie to save my life, lol.

  2. I think O.J. Simpson is the only one with the credentials to portray Tyson.

  3. I think if some notable writer wrote the movie MIke could make a fortune on the movie.  I know i'd pay to go see it. The story of that man's life is really one of the most fascinating stories ever.

  4. Yeah, and I'd like to see Kimbo Slice added to his story.

  5. Probably, But Ving Rhimes would be better

  6. I thought the movie was good. I must admit that I was in H.S. at the time... I am pretty sure it was an h.b.o. movie. They also made a don king movie. Maybe that one was the one I remember being good!

  7. The movie with micheal White was called Tyson, and was not well written. It was a made for tv movie back in the early 90's.

Id like to see a big box office movie though. I think the best guy for the part would still be Micheal White, but Foxx, and White, and Ving Rhames are all too old to play young mike.

    Standing ovation for 'Tyson!'

    By Lisa Scott

The documentary on Mike Tyson, entitled ‘Tyson,’ premiered at the famed Cannes Film Festival last Friday and received prolonged standing ovations from critics and audiences alike. News out of Cannes report that after the films red-carpet screening, Tyson and director James Toback approached the dais to address the audience, only to receive more cheers from the packed house. Tyson, who was visibly moved by all the adulation, stated “I’ve never experienced anything like this in my whole career. It’s kind of intimidating. I had no idea this thing was going to ever make it to such a grand scale. I feel totally overwhelmed.” The former champ also added: “I lived a wild and strange life. I've used drugs and had physical altercations with dangerous people. It's just a miracle I’m here. Jim (Toback), he just elicited all this stuff out of me, I don't know how he did it.” A choked-up Toback, who has known Tyson for over 23 years and gave him small roles in two of his movies, said he believed he had succeeded in presenting Tyson as a “complex, iconic and noble human being.” The film, which blends in old video footage and TV interviews, is told entirely from Tyson’s point of view in graphic detail and has been described by many as “shocking” and “moving.” Festival chief Thierry Fremaux, introduced the picture as “a very special film that conveys the memory of a man and the memory of a sport.” ‘Tyson’ is scheduled for major release this Fall.
