A n00btastic question regarding Wireless Connections...?

Okay, so I have a computer downstairs (connected to a Router using a direct wired connection) and a computer upstairs which is wirelessley connected to the Router downstairs.

I recently got Xbox Live upstairs, and it's wirelessley connected to the Router downstairs as well. I started to notice a slight connection problem with my computer ever since. Usually, my connection says "Very Good" or the occasional "Excellent", but after the Xbox it usually says "Good" or "Low".

This is because of the Xbox connection, right? In which case, if I log off of Xbox Live or turn off my Xbox, my computer will work better?

Please help me. lol

  1. who cares about connection just go play

  2. well its simple, you have the same connection but more tech to run on it (extra xbox), so this had do happen. i recommend getting a more powerful wireless connection

  3. The "reduced" connection quality shouldn't be noticeable.

This fluctuation is caused by signal interference from the Xbox. When the Xbox is off, the interference should cease.

You shouldn't rely on the signal strength descriptors. Most of the time they are either wrong or outdated.

You shouldn't experience any changes in network performance, Xbox or not.
