  1. Here are a few I have found that actually work and are safe and natural yet you can buy them in any health food store and even in drugstores:

    Melotonin

    Sleep MD

    Mid-Sleep

Burts Bees Sleep Remedy (spray on tongue)

    Chomomile Tea

    Sienna Tea

You can use these in combo but only mix tea with pill, not two pills. I had insomnia for 3 years and it was bad. I tried many of the easier remedies like milk and turkey and relaxation techniques and nothing worker except items above. Try it.

  2. Have a hot bath and listen to music :)

  3. Regular exercise, low stress, a balanced diet. Also, herbal tea or warm milk is very soothing, and puts me right to sleep.

  4. Get regular exercise, not too late in the evening.  Limit your caffeine in the later part of the day & take a book to bed with you.

  5. Sleep restriction is perhaps the most powerful technique to battle short term insomnia and chronic insomnia. The rule of sleep restriction is simple: If you can't fall asleep and you lie awake in your bed for longer than 30 minutes, get out of bed! Stay out of bed until you feel a tired sensation coming over you, and then go back to bed. This works because it interrupts your pattern of thinking. If you've been lying awake

in bed for longer than 30 minutes, your mind is racing, and you can't relax. Chances are you're not going to suddenly get hit over the head and relax instantly. You've simply created too much negative momentum and it's keeping you awake! This is why getting up and out of bed is the best way to interrupt this. Getting out of bed is a great way to clear your mind, and get the feeling of drowsiness back in you.

  6. Natural remedies include warm milk, melatonin, valerian, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  7. 1. Organic Chamomile tea with lavender and lemon balm (not lemon grass). The company is Traditional Medicinals.

    2. Sleepytime Tea.

    3. A warm bath with epsom salts puts me right out.

    4. A glass of magnesium supplement called Natural Calm in powder form in warm water (tastes good too!)

    Good luck!

  8. One blunt.

    smoke.

    sleep:)

  9. As a mostly recovered drastic insomniac, I can say that these have helped me:

    - Magnesium (especially in drinkable form - try: http://www.petergillham.com/product-line...

    - Zinc supplements (best if taken with magnesium - some folks swear by a preformulated combination of zinc and magnesium called ZMA for sleep)

    - Time released melatonin

If not, I have a really terrible economics text that sometimes helps.

  10. Listen to the radio.

  11. not trying to be a douche, but honestly if you smoke a little mary jane it'll relax you and then put you right out

  12. I'm amazed nobody has mentioned s*x yet.

    So  s*x

  13. There are certain foods which stimulate a sleep-inducing chemical called Tryptophan in your body when eaten. These foods include milk, bananas, and turkey (ditto! ever wonder why milk sends the baby to sleep?) So the best thing to do is eat a light snack an hour before bed. I would recommend a banana, a bowl of cereal with milk, or a few cookies with a glass of milk. You can also eat a few slices of turkey but not too much because too much protein actually interferes with your sleep (since protein is harder to digest than carbohydrates).

I would also recommend shutting off any light source (lights, television, lamp, cellphone, etc) because even a small amount of light can stimulate chemicals in your body that make you stay awake. Your body still thinks the sun is out when it is really nighttime. Also shut off anything that is making noise, especially you TV.

    Hope this helps.

  14. A good natural remedy is just plain old pure lavender.  Some people put it on a kleenex and inhale it as they are laying in bed.  Some put it on cotton balls and put in their pillow case or just inhale some from the bottle.  You will have the best sleep you have had in years.

    Happy Sleeping

  15. Any of these have helped me:

Stay away from anything with caffeine 6 hrs before bed

  16. warm milk helps.

    Also,
