A navy F-18 question?

i live maryland Eastern shore and most of the military aircraft i see down here are A-10s and C-17s.but recently iv been seeing navy F-18 is that normal for this part of maryland

  1. Not really normal, but I would not get overly concerned about it. The Navy may be conducting training missions or preparing for a real world deployment. Since Maryland and Georgia are both along the east coast...maybe they are using Maryland as a staging base to engage the Russians who are invading Georgia?

         FYI--that was sarcasm, I know Russians prefer vodka over peaches and peanuts.


  2. I suspect that they are covering for an air guard unit that was deployed over seas. The navy pilots sometimes do this when there carrier they are assigned to is docked for overhaul this allows the navy pilots to keep up their skills and be useful at the same time.
