  1. Wow,I'm very sorry dude...If that happened to me I wouldn't get the other dog put down because they love their dog probably...but If you would like, there Is a possibility of getting the pit-bull put down.

I'm very sorry about what happened to your little chihuahua and I hope He or She rests In peace, But as to your question I don't really have an answer...

Hope You and your kids feel better!

Also You could file a law suit!

  2. the pit bull owners should be responsible for the death of your dog

  3. What the heck is a chiuawa??

  4. it's your property so even if you don't have a fence...the owners of the pit bull are responsible for their dog wandering.

Their dog should have been on a leash.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

Their dog should definitely be put down. Next time it could be one of your kids!

  5. Shoot your neighbors dog.

    Seriously.

  6. Both parties here can be to blame. A chihuahua should not be left out in a yard unsupervised. Especially in the Summer. Did you have a fence to keep the Pitbull out? I say keep calling animal services and put the dog on a list. He should be put down depending on his record. Other than that, there's not much you can do. It's up to the authorities. My heart goes out to you... that's tragic.

Was he on a leash? If he was, you could have easily dragged him to you... it'd be better than a Pitbull attacking him. Again, contact the authorities. I know it sucks, it's an awful situation... but I believe the Pitbull CAN be put down. I guess you need to learn from this. We can't control other dogs and it sucks that some people don't control their own dogs. I AM very sorry! I wish I could offer more help.

  7. all ican say is forgivness is important, ut if the neighbor won't admit to  it and apologize, then SUE SUE SUE!

  8. Sometimes people have to solve things themselves.

  9. well it all depends on the situation

was your dog on a leash? do you have a fence?

in most counties, even if your dog is on your property, it has to be on a leash if outside to help prevent things like this from happening.

and pit bulls just dont attack "out of nowhere" or for no reason. was your dog antagonizing it?

if you were doing everything you were suppose to do, then legally, yes, the other dog's owners would be responsible for any vet bills from this and for the cost of the dog.

  10. I am so sorry.  Call animal control.  The other dog wasn't on a leash and came onto your property so the owners of that dog are liable.  That happened to me a few years ago and even though my dog was not on a leash, I was told that because the dog who attacked was on my property the owners were liable.

However sometimes you have to take things into your own hands.  Seriously.  I told the dog's owner if I ever saw her dog on my property again it would be the last time she saw her dog.  He was never let loose again.

  11. That is terrible. This should be handled by Animal Control, see if you can find a number in the government section of your yellow pages.
