A new colour cartidge is

A new colour cartidge is in the machine(the second new one)but it still will not print in colour properly.The test page is just blue and black.I have found a small grey rubber 't shape'lying to the front of the cartidge section.I can't see where it has come from.The printer is an HP 6300 series.
