  2. you just need a pci card wifi adapter

  3. I don't exactly understand what you are saying, but I will explain what you need to have wireless internet.

Your internet signal will come into the house through either a phone jack or cable. This will connect to your modem.

The modem plugs into your wireless router. Many companies make these...(Dlink, Linksys, Apple, etc.). It is possible that your modem has a built-in wireless router.

The router emits a wireless signal. A card in your computer (either a separate card or integrated...most are integrated now) will receive that signal.

So, in short, you just need a wireless router to send out the signal and a wireless card to receive the signal.

  4. You need to have a wireless router to have wireless internet.

If you already have one, the option for wireless card in a computer would be labeled as "802.11g" or "802.11n" (GET N! It is so much faster, especially when you go off to get a wireless N router.)
