I keep getting a little icon that appears on my taskbar that says:

Internet gateway device

A new device is now available on your network. For more information, click here.

And sometimes it isn't even the: Internet gateway device. It comes up with other names too. And when I'm in My Network Places, I click on the device and nothing happens.

What does this all mean?

  1. It means you have wireless internet and someone else is connecting to your network, otherwise called a network intruder or piggybacker.

I would HIGHLY recommend (before this intruder steals personal information) running a free wireless network security scan:

And I also recommend downloading the free version of Network Magic, found here:

    http://www.networkmagic.com/download/

Network Magic automatically creates a map of the computers and devices sharing your Internet connection and updates it whenever a change occurs, letting you know who and what is currently online.  The Network Map tells you when an unknown computer tries to access your wireless network which appears to be the case with you.  When it finds a potential Intruder you can mark them as an intruder and monitor their activity, or use Network Magic wireless protection to kick all intruders off your network and prevent them from coming back.

  2. http://www.cputuneup.com/     this company can make make your computer better and faster..

  3. that is your ADSL router modem that connected to your computer.
