A new glasses prescription while pregnant?

i am 14 weeks and i NEED a new glasses prescription. i know that your eyes can change during pregnancy. i experienced this first hand while preg with my first, i was unable to wear my contacts after about two months due to major discomfort. i heard your eye can change shape during pregnancy, and i already have a HORRIBLE astigmatism.

so, bottom line, if i get my new prescription now, will i need to update it after this pregnancy?

anyone have any first hand experience with this?

  1. I had to get an updated prescription while pregnant, and I only fluctuated like a quarter in each eye, which is something I tend to do anyway.  I don't know what state you're in, but I think most prescriptions only last a year to two years anyway.  You might as well get a new prescription since you need it.  If you go through Lenscrafters or some other retail chain, you can have new lenses made within the year for half the cost.  I didn't need a new prescription after my pregnancy though, and the next time I need to get contacts, I'll have to have another eye exam anyway.  If I were you, I'd just go for it.  Being uncomfortable is only going to get worse, so you might as well go for comfort over money at this point.  Congrats on the pregnancy and best wishes!
