A new logo launched for the DP World Tour Championship
The DP World Tour Championship has a new logo for the current years’ edition, as it will be featuring a new look for the tournament set to be staged in November 2012.
In December 2011, it was announced that the European Tour season ending, Dubai World Tour Championship, would be called as the DP World Tour Championship till 2014.
This decision was taken by the tour official, after grabbing the sponsorship from DP World, for three years
Now, the logo will be comprised of the Harry Vardon silhouette and it will make the corporate identity of the European Tour.
This tournament is very important. It is played every year in Decemeber, before the Race to Dubai occasion. This event goes on throughout the year and the highest money earner typically wins the title in Dubai.
Last year, Luke Donald was the proud winner of the Race to Dubai. Rory McIlroy was the runner-up. They both have earned handsome figures in many tournaments and amazed their fans.
Both the events, the DP World Tour Championship and Race to Duabi, are staged at the Jumeirah Golf Estates and will go on till 2014. It is also expected that with the end of the sponsorship, the venue can also be changed for better results.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the European Tour for yet another year to bring to Dubai the world’s best golfers and their fans,” Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of the DP World, said.
He added: “The DP World Tour Championship and the crowning Race to Dubai have become over the past few years a staple in Dubai’s calendar of exclusive sporting events, reflecting not only the success of the event, but also Dubai’s position as a prime business,
sports and leisure destination. We look forward to enjoying what is shaping up to be another exciting and successful event for both the European Tour and DP World”.
The upcoming event of the Middle East region will be more appealing. The new logo and the sponsorship are making the players and spectators excited.
On the other hand, the change in the world rankings will also create huge hype. Winner of the last year's Race to Dubai is no more dominating the rankings.
