I just want to be able to walk through the halls and not have to hide or run.

i am 16 year old girl. I am not pretty. but not ugly.

I shower Daily when I can. but if I miss one day of showering my hair goes Greasy like I haven't showered in days. and the people at my school seem to jump all over that. with rude comments.

Last year at school when I came across a bully, as soon as they started at me I would find a friend and make it look like I was Very "into" a conversation with them. or I would hide with my friends before the bully got up the hall.

the problem is all my friends graduated last year. so I cant use them to hide behind.

and also. the same as last year. in general at lunch time all I want to do is eat my lunch and then play my guitar. but I cant do that because last year one of my school bullys broke my guitar and my mother wont let me take another to school

How do I avoid bullys? how do I not so much "fit in" as Blend in?

I am a scene kid with scene hair. which I know stands out in the school. but I am me and I dont want to change that.

anything I can do? other then "tell an adult?"

thanks!

  1. Be confident, walk through the halls with a smile on your face- bullies have no reason to pick on someone like that! As for your hair.... just ignore them, the main reason they pick on you is because they have low self esteem and like reactions from people- that's what they want, a volcano from you. So if they say something mean ignore them and keep your cool. Another way to keep bullying under control is to travel through the halls in groups and with friends. Bullies will be less likely to attack if they know you've got friends there to protect and stand up for you. If you don't have any friends then make it a goal to say hi to one person that you don't know a day. People like other people who are friendly and have bubbly dispositions- smile and say hello and be friendly, make conversation over things they can relate to, how hard a

test was or what they think of the band substitute or how their summer  vacations were.

  2. bullies are all about reaction so dont react and stand up for yourself

  3. Yes there is something you can do.  Be yourself, and be confident.  Ignore these bullies, they just want to get a reaction from you.  They bother you, don't give them the time of day, tell them that you don't give a sh*t what they think about you, and walk away. If it becomes even more of a problem, then you should tell a teacher or councelor or parent.  Confidence is the best thing you can have. Once you can ignore them, just focus on your life and making new friends, be sociable and fun!

As for being less shy, I have the same problem, but when you talk to people, don't think about what they think of you, just say what you want to say.  If they don't like you for some reason, then thats their problem!  Be carefree and yourself, and it will help you a lot.  It can be a little hard at first, but once you can do that, you'll be fine.

    Good luck!
