A nice car for a new driver?

I'm turning 16 soon and my dad said he will buy me a car. But we have a clash in thoughts, of course wants the reliable, cheap, used and has good gas mileage which is totally understandable. I want a dodge charger which i think fits all of those, yet I know he is considering the car I doubt I'll get it. Is there a car that has a similar look to the charger that would be father approved?

  1. a honda civic would be ideal for you.

  2. Personally i don't know of a car, but a Toyota Camry is a very good car. Even if it is used.

  3. To be honest, a Dodge Charger isn't going to be good in any of those areas. It may be reliable to an extent, but it is an American car after all. It won't be cheap to purchase, or to maintain. It will definitely not get good gas milage.

You're only 16, you have all the time in the world to get that car you really want, but it doesn't have to be now. I'm only 23, but I remember when I was 16, I absolutely loved, LOVED, to drive everywhere, all the time! If I were you, I'd stick strictly to Japanese cars. They're your best bet. They're safe, engineered very well, get great gas mileage, are more than likely not going to break down on you, especially if you take great care of it, and they're fairly cheap.

I know you really want that Charger, but trust me, with the way gas prices are going these days, getting a Honda Accord or Civic, or a Toyota Camry or Corolla, will make you, your dad, and your wallet a lot happier. Plus, your dad will love you even more for not getting the Charger.

    Have fun, be safe.
