A nice place for a rehersal dinner in TORONTO?

We are getting married at St. Clare Church on St. Clair Ave. There will be 15-20 people at the dinner. Also, is it appropriate to invite our priest? A restaurant close to the church would be nice, but its not essential.

  1. I recommend Auberge du Pommier at Yonge and York Mills, or The Miller in the same area.  Each has lots off parking, not far from Yonge & St. Clair and great food.

Yes, I think you should invite your Priest.

  2. it's really hard to recommend a restaurant, as I don't know if there is any requirement for a particular cuisine, any dietary restrictions, etc.  I'd suggest you log on to www.toronto.com - they have really good restaurant listings and recommendations, etc.  You can sort by type of cuisine, or by neighbourhood.  The reviews will also give you some idea of price.  With the size of your wedding party, you'll want something with a little more space.

Some suggestions if it doesn't matter about travel: Big Daddy's on King and Simcoe - they have a separate party room you could book.  Crush Wine Bar on King and Spadina - good food, lots of room and fresh modern decor.  Alice Fazooli's at John and Adelaide, or Milestones at John and Richmond.  There's tons of good restaurants in the theatre district.

Re the question about your priest - it's not inappropriate to invite him.  However, I would only invite him to the rehearsal dinner if he's well known to you and has a relationship with you / your family.  I'm assuming you're Catholic.  I don't know what the current practice is, but when I got married, we invited the priest to the reception.  I think you should do whatever you are comfortable with.

  3. go to dine.TO and ull have every resturant, hotel, and everything there. There all rated, have menus and pictures :) good luck

Or Da Gianni & Maria Trattoria is always nice, though not quite as close to the church (you'd have to drive), 796 St. Clair Ave. West, 652-3982...

AND--I think that the Rushton made someone's top ten Toronto restaurants list, 740 St. Clair Ave. West, 658-7874.

Good luck; have fun; and invite the priest if he's likely to have someone to talk to (who won't feel like "Oh great, I have to talk to the priest all night!")!

p.s. I don't think that 15-20 people should be a problem (with enough notice) at any of these places!
