  1. Dublin....

  2. Donegal without a doubt, if you don't believe check out where I stayed my last trip. www.culandoonhouse.com

  3. Portrush in Northern Irealnd is lovely.  Large beaches, beautiful scenery, lots of shops, areas of interest, close by the the Giants Causeway, very friendly people, lots of pubs, great for seeing the history of Ireland.  You can catch crabs in the shallow water and other little critters too.

The weather is usually raining, but it's a light drizzle mostly.  Portrush also offers many restuarants with Irish dishes.  Yum.

    Have a great time.

  4. My advice: Stay as far away from Dublin as you can!

Though I am living in Donegal, I would go to the South for a week, especially in summer, as it can be fairly depressing up North.

Choose Cork or one of the surrounding villages as your base, and go to Garnish Island (if you go there make sure the ferry goes past the seals), Fota House, Blarney Castle, see the druidic stone circle there, drive out to Killarny one day, and another to go to Bunratty Castle near Limerick. If you enjoy the seaside more than the old culture and monuments, go to the loveliest beach in Ireland at Garryvoe, walk around the bay to the old town of Ballycotton. It is absolutely wonderful there.
