i do care somewhat about fashion, but not as much as the people in my school, who seem to dress pretty fancy everyday

im more of a t-shirt and jeans or sports shorts kind of person

and i dont wear makeup

my question is , is it okay to not care so much about looks?

i dont really feel the need to impress anyone, and yet i feel like i would be judge by my looks before people even bother to get to know me.

as long as i look put together, and fairly neat, do you think its alright?

i just want to be myself, and not have to wear stuff that are unconfortable and not me.

i just need some kind of reassurance or advice or anything

thanks you sooo much in advance

and im sorry if my question is sort of confusing.

  1. I think it's fine to not be concerned about looks. Just make sure that you wear appropriate clothes.

  2. It's more about how you feel than how you dress.  Looking put together instead of sloppy is good, especially considering you never know when you'll meet someone you need to make a good first impression on, but you don't need to look fancy unless you're doing something fancy.

If you don't want to wear make up then you shouldn't, but I will say one thing about it - if you ever do have to look especially nice (for an award ceremony, a job interview, a college interview, a fancy dinner...) a little bit of make up can really help you look polished.  When I say a little I mean a little - make up that looks natural.  A little foundation to make sure your skin looks even from all angles and a little eyeliner to draw attention up to your face can make the difference between looking "sloppy" and looking really nice, and it isn't selling out to fashion just to wear a little.

  3. Yeah, that's perfectly fine. If that's who you are, just dress the way you feel comfortable in. You don't need to follow what everyone else is wearing.

  4. It's totally ok to wear jeans and tshirts everyday. As soon as you go to college, that's all you'll ever see people wearing except the sorority girls. As long as you can put a dress and a little bit of makeup on for special occasions it doesn't matter.

  5. i agree! its fine the way you dress! as long as your comfortable wearing it [= maybe you can spruce up your sporty outfits a bit. Hollisters tee shirts are super comfy, have a great girly/yet sporty look. and plaid shorts! they are roomy, comfy and they add a little pop to your style because they come in different colors. but dont listen to the people who judge you. its fine the way you dress. just be yourself and you will be fine [=

    good luck!

  6. It's always best to be yourself.  They may feel comfortable dressing up and wearing make-up, but if that isn't your scene, stay out of it.  It could be hard being the odd-man-out sometimes, but you have to keep strong and remember the goals you have for yourself.  But that doesn't mean that you can never dress up or wear make-up.  Make any changes that you feel are right, but do so at atime that you feel comfortable with.
