A number just called me and I called it back and it said it's not in service. Why is that?

A number just called me and I called it back and it said it's not in service. Why is that?

either the line is being checked for problems, the bill was not paid and it was a nice way of saying it wasdiconnected, or who ever had it had it disconnected and the number is no longer valid

its a telemarketer, if you call them back most of the time this message appear...... (this number is not in service)....its only used for outgoing calls!!

it was most likely a telemarketer.
