A nurse told me to mix 2 tlbs. of apple cidar vinegar with 8 oz. of water 2 times a day to help lower choleste

my cholesterol is sky high and I cannot take anything with statins in it. she told me about the vinegar. has anyone tried this and does it work?

  1. yes , it will work, i have a lot of customers who have high levels of cholesterol and eventually apple cider vinegar helps. it also helps to reduce high blood pressure after 2 weeks of using it.

Yes it will help in lowering your cholesterol levels and weight loss but it should be drunk 30 mins before meals and first thing in the morning.........A friend of mine used to have high cholesterol at a young age and she would drink lemon/lime water (glass of water with juice of a lemon or lime) first thing in the morning and I remember she was pleased with the results.. but you can give both a try and see which one you prefer most..

  3. I think it will work and it will also cleanse your body of toxins and can reduce acne and make your hair healthier. I would also try eating whole grain foods more often like oats and brown rice

  4. It may help generally, but not specifically to reduce cholesterol. What really helps is Oat Bran. Not Oat meal or flakes, but Oat Bran.

    If you take about 3 quarters of a cup mixed with rice milk and flavoured yoghurt to which you add half a teaspoonful of cinnamon (important!) you will cut your cholesterol level by 40% in just 8 weeks, without medication.

    Oat bran doesn't taste that great, but is edible.

    You might want to read Robert E. Kowalski's book: "The 8 week cholesterol cure" which gives recipes for excellent muffins to help you take your daily dose of oat bran.

  6. She's crazy,,,,,,eat oatmeal every day for breakfast, and pay attention to the fat content of everything you eat. Lower your fat intake to 40 grams/day or less, avoid all hydrogenated oils and corn sweeteners, and you'll see a dramatic reduction in your cholesterol level!

  7. Yes I have heard it works.I don't have that problem but vinegar has hundreds of uses that work well.It can't hurt to try it along oatmeal.

  8. She/He needs to go back to nursing school.  There is no evidence that apple cider vinegar lowers cholesterol.

    Oat bran has very mild effects.  I remember it was hyped pretty heavily 15 years ago when I was in med school, but the long term studies didn't show much benefit.

  10. OATMEAL. Also try to get the chol lowering orange juice from minute maid. AVOID HIGH IN FAT FOODS, ESP TRANS FATS!
