Hi,

Last week, and old friend of mine died in a car crash at 17... his funeral has now been arranged for this upcoming friday (5th). I hadent spoke to this guy for some year & a half, although at school I was abit matey with him but not overly... From the outset, due to my own personal opinions & factors, i havent really desired to go to his funeral.

However, i feel that a few people i know might think what am i doing not going, and dont really want any conflict or to upset anyone... another old mate (who knew the victim alot more than me) had text me saying it wud be good if i went, but it was entirely upto me and he would understand.

getting to the point, i do not wish to go to the funeral 100% (due to personal reasons) but am just wondering what i could tell my mate (that text me - cause i cant ignore him!), putting it politely and not apearing un-reasonable.. please help! opinons!

  1. He said that he would understand. That's just you feeling guilty.

  2. Tell him you cannot emtionaly handle a funeral at this time, and you hope he respects your decision.Leave it at that and everyone else should they ask should get the same responce. If anyone asks further questions just say.Thank you for asking but i would rather not talk about it but thanks for your concern.
