  1. just omit the baking powder

I always omit baking soda cause I dont have it at home

  2. Hm, I am actually not so sure. Google it or go to Cooks.com, k?

  3. This recipe makes a crepe-like pancake.  Very good if you take 3 half-slices of bacon, brown them in the skillet, drain off all but a few drops of the bacon fat, then pour this batter by the spoonful into the skillet and move the pan around to coat the bottom of the pan and all around the bacon.  Only pour enough to just cover the bottom.  Wait until the sides start to curl up and then flip it over and just warm that side.  Place on a plate and keep warm until they are all cooked.  Serve with butter and syrup.  Very good.

    PANCAKES

    1 egg

    1 cup regular flour

    dash of salt

sugar to taste (apx 1/8 - 1 tsp)

    1/2 cup water

    1/2 cup milk

Stir until everything is wet.  Stir again before making another pancake.  I cook them in the skillet and use 3 half-slices of bacon for each.  The recipe is also good without the bacon and rolled up with a nice cheese filling.

    Enjoy!

  4. Bisquick and water!!

  5. umm the boxed kind

  6. I think it's used to make them fluff up a bit. Try this to get them fluffy without using baking powder.

Make the batter with plain flour, milk and a little sugar if that's how you like it. Then instead of cracking the egg straight it seperate it first. Add the yolk but then beat the white for a few minutes so its fluffy and soft. Fold that into the the flour mix gently and then start cooking them straight away.

  7. You can substitute baking powder with the following in any recipe:

1 tsp baking powder = 1/2 tsp cream of tartar + 1/4 tsp baking soda

You will get the same results with this substitution.

  8. i make pancakes with 1 cup selfraising flour, 1 egg,1/4 cup sugar and enough milk to make it "runny". add banana or blueberries if u want. goodluck

  9. If your flour is self-rising (all purpose), and if it's fresh, you don't absolutely have to add baking powder because there's already a little in the flour. But if you don't have self-rising flour, or if it's not really fresh, the pancakes will not fluff up without baking powder.

  10. Offhand, I can't think of any.

Bisquick and "the boxed kind" have baking powder in them, which is needed to make them raise as they cook. Self-rising flour also has baking powder in it.

Without that leavening agent, you might end up with hockey pucks, unless you are going for the thinner crepes.

    Hope this helps.
