Alright, what I have to do is write a paper in which I compare and contrast myself a character from Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever. Now. I know you can't tell me exactly what to do (i'm not asking for that) since you dont know me and etc. What i'm asking is how would you go about this? I chose Max because you know the most about her. So, how would you go about writing this?

Normally, I wouldn't ask for help on writing as I love to read and write, but i don't know how to write something like this. So, please help? Thanks!

  2. I never liked compare and contrast papers, either. I've never heard of the book, so I can't help with it. But here's what you do...

Start by making two lists: Ways I'm Like Max and Ways Max and I Are Different. List as many things as you can, but try for at least three things for each list.

Okay, notice any patterns? You need an intro paragraph that sets the theme or tone or thesis for the paper. So mentioning a pattern would do it. For example, "Max was the character I most identified with in Maximum Ride. He and I shared all the same values, and I wish I knew how to deal with things the way he does." (I know this isn't well written - that's YOUR job. I'm just giving you an example.)

And then you can do a paragraph or section about how you're alike.

Then do another about how you react to things completely differently and you wish you were more like him that way (or whatever, just so you tie it back to the intro paragraph.

    Then a conclusion paragraph.

The other way is to do three paragraphs where you say "we were alike in this way but not in that one" for each paragraph. The trick here is that the two things in each paragraph must be related to each other so it makes sense to put them together in a paragraph. For example, the paragrpah could be attitudes towards school, and you could both be alike because you're both good students, but different because you prefer different subjects.

Hope this at least gets you started!
