what does contingency / management settings have anything to do with parenting?

  1. i would think it is about you thinking about the various types of reaction you may get from the child and having a plan in place for how you are going to manage it.

    for example you want your child to do a task....you decide if the child refuses you might give them time out. you then think what if my child wont stay in time out...you may think i will either increase the length of time out or remove a toy.

    the compionets would be

    1. setting a standard or acheivable aim

    2. deciding how you are going to acheive it,when and where

    3. deciding on your actions if the plan fails or doesnt go according to plan

    4. reflecting on how the situation went and making changes where needed
