I think it should be something out of the blue, something you don't see coming.  And I would like to happen when were doing something we both like to do on a normal day, and something that would sweep me off my feet.  I wouldn't want it on a birthday or holiday or an extravagant trip.  I would want it on just a normal day.

mine WAS the perfect proposal... just perfect.

My boyfriends birthday and mine are back to back, so we threw a joint birthday party with an 80's rock theme.

So everyone is dressed like 80's rockers, it was awesome.

Well I head inside to play some Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's and its turnd off, so I just turn around and start talking to a friend.

Then its quiet and i hear "I wanna grow old with you." from the Wedding Singer start playing and I turn around and see my boyfriend get down on one knee and just hold up the ring.

My response? "Are you f***ing kidding me?!?!!"  I was so shocked, amazed and in awe.

Then he quietly asked, "Will you marry me?"

Of course I'm in tears and fall on my knees with him and say yes.

One of the best moments of my life.

Our wedding is in 5 weeks.  :-)

Doing something you love, or something you've always dreamed of... and then popping the question.

Skiing vacation - popping it at the lodge after a long day of runs over a hot toddy in front of the fire... nice

Amusement Park - As you're going up the long wooden roller coaster for the big drop... pop the question.  Sit in the front car for the most dramatic effect... but ONLY if you're sure they'll say YES.... LOL

Special place - Spot of your first date, first kiss, first whatever... pop it!

Surprise party - My boyfriend (now husband) popped the question to me last October.  I'm a DJ, so he set up a fake gig with one of my DJ companies.  I drove to a restaurant, went to the back to set up, and he was there with our families and closed friends.  I had always wanted a surprise party... so this was something really special for me.  He popped the question, we laughed, and we had a dessert and champagne get together with everyone.  It was a lot of fun!

Whatever happens, believe me, it will be perfect.  My husband had asked me for some hints of things I might like for a proposal.  I told him my only requirement was that he was SURE I was wearing make-up when he popped it... complete with waterproof mascara.

He still gets after me because I didn't cry.  I was so shocked!  It still makes me smile.

well i would definitly not want to expect it. something real romantic. maybe coming home from work and having flowers and candles everywhere.or something where we have spent the whole day together going to different places.i really dont care as long as it comes from his heart and its not something i expect.
