A person sometimes starts a conversation

with "Where you from?" I say Chicago. He replys "How about Da bears. or names another sports team. I really hate sports and never follow anything about them, I reply I don't know. He follows up with another sports remark. and I say I'm not interested in sports. He then persues the subject. Is there a way to tell him to drop it without being rude. I think it is very rude to push the subject when I clearly show no interest. I know I do not want to get to know this guy. Sometimes, Im stuck with him for awhile. why does a guy do this? He is just sure everybody likes sports and can't understand I do not.

  1. Tell him then... ''Not everybody in Chicago likes sports and I am ignorant about anything to do with this subject'' next question please and if it's another sports question, I pass...

  2. Ask him where he's from.  Or tell him you're more into Oprah and deep-dish pizza or something else Chicago.

Or just let him ramble and don't respond.

  3. haha. i'm from chicago and i honestly don't care for any of the sports teams either. I would probably tell the person straight up that i'm not interested in sports like you did, and if he ignores that comment and keeps talking about it, you should just tell him you have to go or find another excuse to stop talking to him.

if you're stuck with him, ask him some questions and bother the h**l our of him/her.
